Anna Vissi - That's what love can do (Greek Version: Aν σ'ερωτευτώ)

Some Thoughts on these versions...

- What an amazing thing the arrangement is to a song... Christina's version is a soul-pop version, givin a feelin much closer to that of Anna's Greek version... Anna's english version is much more into rock and thus Anna's english interpretation is a completely different approach to Christina's -same-language- song... That is not the case with the greek version...
There is no greek rock scene really... Greek doesn't sound very good with rock, does it?
Isn't it amazing how the arrangement of a song can change its energy completely?!

-What an amazing effect the language plays in music... The sounds of the english spoken language to those of the greek spoken language, how each language works its way through music bringing something else to the surface...
Isn't it amazing how the language of a song can change its energy completely?!

-Christina's voice and interpretation is just amazing. She's a great singer at what she does, and it's even better to point out that she (or her producers) choose songs very carefully so that they will help her image and her singing profile to shine even more.
That's what a singer/artist/artists' managers should do... They should choose those songs and those arrangements that will eventually add up to the artist's profile...

-Anna's english rock version is a cleaver approach to what Anna can do with rock-alike songs, and at the same time take the expected comparison with Anguilera the far away the possible, as the two english versions are completely different in style. Anna's singing approach adds up to the rock piece and at the same time the rock arrangement helps her as a singer to show a different self. The greek version on the other hand already bears a huge different energy from that of Anguilera's, only because of the different language sound. So, even if the two arrangements (Anguilera's english version and Vissi's greek version) were the same, the approach should and would be completely different, naturally because of the different feel of each language's sound.

I must say that I like all three versions, although Anna's voice used to be so much better 15 year's ago... The greek lyrics are very close to the english meaning of the song, and I must say I especially luv that element...
